Cornerstone wins Fifth-Straight Women's Cross Country Title

ADRIAN, Mich. - (Complete Results) - Cornerstone Women's Cross Country raced its way to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Women's Cross Country title on Friday afternoon at Heritage Park in Adrian. The Golden Eagles earned the team's fifth-straight team title and seventh all-time. 

Indiana Tech freshman Bronwyn Nel won the race with a time of 21:09.30 to storm onto the WHAC scene. Cornerstone's Emma Moore finished second with a time of 21:17.90. Madison Rempalski (Aquinas), Jacie Remtema (Cornerstone) and Adelin Patterson (Cornerstone) rounded out the top five. The Golden Eagles boasted eight of the top 11 finishers. 

Nel, by way of her win, was named the WHAC Runner of the Year as well as the Newcomer of the Year

Cornerstone won the race with 26 team points. Aquinas was second with 50 points followed by Indiana Tech with 108.   

The top seven finishers were named First-Team All-Conference with finishers 8-14 receiving Second-Team All-Conference accolades. Aquinas head coach Mike Wojciakowski earned Champion of Character honors while Cornerstone coach Jason Schalk was named Coach of the Year.
