AT Lewis Early Bird Opener

Weather: low-60s and some wind. While four mile course for the men ran 100 meters short, talking with Lewis coach, he said 4k course ran true to distance. Really good racing weather. McKenna Palmer and Sarah Koker (freshman) broke our previous program course record held by Lisa Voyles (Lisa originally set our program record on this course last year with a time of 15:35). So really solid races up front by those two. Some historical perspective- our team time this year was 1:22:43 for 4k. In 2023 (when we raced Lisa), we had a team time of 1:28:00. In 2022 (when we raced Krista Boese and McKenna Palmer), we had a team time of 1:24:09. We did not race Alina LaForest (transfer from VMI). She would fill that void in our top-5 lineup. Most likely, she will not open up until racing at Seminole Valley in Oct due to getting more time to transition into our training. I believe Olivet Nazarene did not race a few that would be in their top-7.
