Moore and Hope win final outdoor weekly honors

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its latest Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction. This week's honors highlight championship-level dominance, featuring a distance sweep from a Cornerstone veteran and a record-breaking performance from Aquinas's premier thrower.

Emma Moore, Cornerstone

Senior Emma Moore delivered a masterful performance at the WHAC Championships (May 1–2), securing two individual conference titles. Moore showcased her endurance and tactical prowess by taking first place in both the 5,000m (17:33.96) and the 10,000m (38:44.51). Her double-gold weekend was instrumental in the Golden Eagles' scoring efforts and solidifies her status as one of the premier distance runners in the conference.

Field Athlete of the Week

Maelie Hope, Aquinas

(Jr., Twin Lake, Mich.)

Junior Maelie Hope continues her historic season, claiming Field Athlete of the Week honors for the third consecutive week. At the WHAC Outdoor Championships, Hope dominated the Hammer Throw with a massive mark of 57.56m. Not only did this performance secure a conference title and an NAIA "A" Standard, but it also catapulted her to the No. 1 ranking in the nation for the event.
