Davis and Rodriguez Sweep Womens Outdoor Honors
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its first Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week Awards for the 2026 season, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions and selected via a vote by the conference's sports information directors.
Indiana Tech secured a clean sweep of the women's honors after an impressive showing against a heavy Division I field at the Blizzard Buster in Oxford, Ohio.
Track Athlete of the Week
K'Leigh Davis, Indiana Tech (Fr.)
Freshman K'Leigh Davis made an immediate impact in her outdoor debut. Davis was a key component of the Warriors' 4x100m relay team, which secured a second-place finish with a time of 47.10, hitting the NAIA "B" Standard. She followed that performance by proving her individual speed in a massive field of 36 runners, placing 5th overall in the 100m dash with a time of 11.98.
Field Athlete of the Week
Viviana Rodriguez, Indiana Tech (So. - Gainesville, Va.)
Sophomore Viviana Rodriguez stood tall in the Pole Vault at the Blizzard Buster. Competing against 11 other athletes, Rodriguez cleared a height of 3.70m to finish third overall. Notably, she was the top non-Division I finisher in the event. Her mark successfully met the NAIA "B" Standard qualification for the outdoor national championships.
