Aquinas advances, UNOH falls in NAIA Women's Soccer Opening Round

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - (Box Score) The Aquinas Saints used a three-goal effort to take down St. Ambrose (Iowa) in the first round of the NAIA Women's Soccer National Champinonship. The Saints played their traditional stellar defense and saw the offense explode for a a goal in the first and two more in the second half to secure the victory and keep the season alive. Madison Slezinski scored off the Julia Grzadkowska assist in the 32nd minute to get the scoring going. Kiersen Korienek made it 2-0 when she scored one off an assist from Aubrey Phenicie in the 73rd minute. St. Ambrose cut the lead in half with a goal in the 80th minute, but Aquinas wasted no time sealing the deal with Korienek's second goal of the game in the 83rd minute. The assist went to Grzadkowska, her second of the match. 

With the win, Aquinas advances to the second round where they will take on host Marian University on Saturday at 5 p.m. Marian is the #1 overall seed in the tournament. A win on Saturday would send the Saints to the final site which will be played in Pensacola, Fla. Dec. 1-8. 


 CALDWELL, Idaho - (Box Score) The magical run that was the 2025 season came to an end for the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) Racers on Thursday evening in Idaho. The WHAC regular season and tournament champions were stout defensively, but were unable to find the back of the net in a 1-0 loss to The Master's University (Calif.) of the Great Southwest Athletic Conference (GSAC). The lone goal of the contest came when The Master's Zaria Echemendia scored unassisted in the 88th minute to secure the victory. UNOH managed just three shots, none on frame, while The Master's fired off 19 shots with five on target. The Racers conclude the season with a 17-4-0 record while The Master's improves to 15-4-2 and will face off with the host College of Idaho on Saturday afternoon.
