University of St. Francis Earns Women's Bowling Tournament Title

LANSING, Mich. - (Bracket Results) For the first time in program history, University of St. Francis has claimed the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) tournament title. Entering the event as the number four seed, the Saints defeated #5 Rochester Christian 3-2 in the first round to set up a meeting with #8 Madonna in the second round. The Crusaders pulled off the biggest upset of the day, knocking of regular season champion and #1 seed Indiana Tech in the first round. St. Francis stayed hot, using all five games to down the Crusaders 3-2 to advance to the semifinals. It was a battle of Saints in the semis as St. Francis pulled off the 3-1 victory over Aquinas to advance to the finals. Indiana Tech battled its way through the lower bracket, defeating Rochester Christian, Lawrence Tech, Madonna and Aquinas to make it to the finals. Their hot streak came to an end when St. Francis earned the 3-2 victory to claim the tournament title.

With the win, University of St. Francis earns the WHAC's autobid to the NAIA National Championships March 19-21 at Royal Scot in Lansing.
