Indiana Tech Wins WHAC Tournament with 76-48 win over RCU

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - For the second time in the last three seasons and sixth time in the last eight, Indiana Tech Women's Basketball has claimed the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) tournament title. The top-seeded Warriors of Indiana Tech capped off a dominant run through the tournament bracket with a 76-48 victory over No. 2 seed Rochester Christian inside the Schaefer Center on Monday evening. Indiana Tech becomes the first women's basketball team to sweep the regular season and tournament since they did so during the 2023-24 season.

Indiana Tech knocked down 13 three pointers on the evening to break the game open. Madison Vice was 5-of-9 from range and finished as the game's leading scorer with 20. WHAC Player of the Year, Taylor Covington, knocked down five of her own and finished the evening with 15 points with five assists. Ryan Moorer added 17 to round out the Tech scorers in double figures. Indiana Tech finished +7 in the turnover category, forcing 16 RCU turnovers to just nine of its own. 

Samone Andrews led the way for Rochester Christian with 19 points. Jacey Somers added 12 of her own. 

Indiana Tech earned the first autobid to the NAIA National Championship by way of its regular season championship. Rochetser Christian takes the WHAC's second bid as the tournament runner-up. Both teams await their next matchup which will be announced on Thursday, March 5 at 8 p.m. ET vis the NAIA selection show.
