Lourdes Sweeps WBB Player of the Week

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Women's Basketball Player of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen Lourdes' Emma Pedroza as the Offensive Player of the Week and teammate Tamaya Worthy as the Defensive Player of the Week.

Pedroza repeats as offensive player of the week for her efforts in leading Lourdes to a 2-0 week. The senior guard averaged 22.5 points per game, scored 25 in a win over Madonna and 20 against UM-Dearborn. She also pulled down 11 boards on Saturday for a double-double.

Worthy had four steals in the win against Madonna and added six more against UM-Dearborn to total 10 for the week. The senior also added 11 rebounds (five defensive) and five assists in the two victories.
