Madonna and Indiana Tech Advance to Softball Championship Series
A weekend full of drama played out and when the dust settled, it was the top two seeds who won their respective pods to advance to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) softball championship series next week. Madonna used the late game dramatics to punch its ticket to the finals with WHAC Player of the Year Ashley Rosiewicz blasting a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh to advance. Indiana Tech used a complete game gem from Savannah Bravo to defeat a red hot Lourdes University team 3-2 on Sunday.
As the highest remaining seed, Madona will host the Warriors at University Field in Livonia with a doubleheader set for Friday, May 1. Games times will be announced on Monday. The win for Indiana Tech also punches its ticket to the NAIA Softball National Championship, as they will earn the WHAC's second autobid regardless of the result of the championship series.
