Indiana Tech Sweeps Weekly WHAC Softball Honors

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its latest Softball Player of the Week awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction. These honors are nominated by the league's host institutions and selected via a vote by the conference's sports information directors.

This week's awards feature a dominant "perfection" theme from Indiana Tech, as the Warriors swept the honors following a standout conference doubleheader.

Softball Player of the Week

Morgan Macek, Indiana Tech

(Fr., OF - Jenison, Mich.)

Freshman leadoff hitter Morgan Macek earns Player of the Week honors after a statistically perfect performance at the plate. In a doubleheader against Defiance, Macek was impossible to retire, reaching base in all 8 of her plate appearances.

She finished the week 4-for-4 with four walks, resulting in a 1.000 batting average, on-base percentage, and slugging percentage. Macek's elite eye and speed at the top of the lineup accounted for three runs scored, an RBI, and a stolen base, providing the offensive spark the Warriors needed to secure a split on the day.

Softball Pitcher of the Week

Savannah Bravo, Indiana Tech

(Sr., RHP - Arroyo Grande, Calif.)

Savannah Bravo returns to the weekly honors for the third time this season after delivering another masterclass in the circle. The senior right-hander tossed a complete-game shutout in a 7-0 victory over Defiance, effectively silencing the Yellow Jackets' bats.

Bravo went the full 7.0 innings, scattering just four hits while striking out seven batters. She didn't issue a single walk, finishing the outing with a microscopic 0.57 WHIP. This performance further solidifies Bravo as one of the premier arms in the WHAC as conference play heats up.
