Cornerstone Wins 2025 WHAC Men's Cross Country Title
ADRIAN, Mich. - (Complete Results) - Cornerstone Men's Cross Country raced its way to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Men's Cross Country title on Friday afternoon at Heritage Park in Adrian. The Golden Eagles earned the team's first title since 2022 and sixth all-time.
Mehdi Nait Hamoud won the individual title for the second-straight year. The junior from Madonna ran the race in 24:49.7 besting the rest of the field by nearly eight seconds. Teammate Mohamed Salahed Ensaad was the second place finisher with a time of 24:57.8. Chase Holwerda (Cornerstone), Kort Thompson (Cornerstone) and Ethan Krampe (Aquinas).
Hamoud, by way of his win, was named the WHAC Runner of the Year while Thompson, a freshman, earned Newcomer of the Year honors.
Cornerstone won the race with 41 team points. Madonna was in second with 56 and Aquinas rounded out the top three with 58 points.
The top seven finishers were named First-Team All-Conference with finishers 8-14 receiving Second-Team All-Conference accolades. Siena Heights head coach Kirk Richards earned Champion of Character honors while Cornerstone coach Jason Schalk was named Coach of the Year.
