Lourdes and Lawrence Tech Punch Tickets to MVB Semifinals

The quarterfinal round of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) men's volleyball tournament kicked off on Tuesday night and the higher seeds took care of business, each earning a 3-0 sweep. No. 3 seed, Lourdes, hosted No. 6 Mount Vernon Nazarene and handed them a 3-0 defeat. Lawrence Tech, the No. 4 seed and defending tournament champions, won its matchup against No. 5 Cornerstone, 3-0.

Both teams will now travel to Mishawaka, Ind. to take part in the final site portion of the tournament, hosted by Bethel University. The Pilots earned the right to host by winning the regular season conference championship. No. 1 Bethel will take on No. 4 Lawrence Tech on Friday at 5 p.m. No. 2 Indiana Tech will play No. 3 Lourdes on Friday at 7 p.m. The winners of those matches will play for the tournament title and an automatic berth to the NAIA National Championships on Saturday at 3 p.m.
