McNair and Stovall Garner Final Men's Outdoor Weekly Awards

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its latest Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction. This week's honors celebrate a freshman's breakout at the conference championships and the continued dominance of a junior thrower who swept major conference hardware.

Jailen McNair, Lawrence Tech

Freshman Jailen McNair earns Track Athlete of the Week honors following a stellar performance at the WHAC Outdoor Championships (May 2). In a highly competitive field of 30 sprinters, McNair blazed to a first-place finish in the 100m dash with a time of 10.59 seconds. His victory secured a conference title and crucial points for the Blue Devils, marking him as the premier short-sprinter in the conference this week.

Field Athlete of the Week

Stuart Zachariah Stovall, Cornerstone

For an unprecedented sixth consecutive week, Stuart Zachariah Stovall has been named the Field Athlete of the Week. At the WHAC Championships (May 1–2), Stovall dominated the Hammer Throw, capturing first place with an NAIA "A" Standard mark of 62.67m. He added a runner-up finish in the Discus (51.27m, "B" Standard) to complete a high-scoring weekend. For his efforts, Stovall was honored as the Most Outstanding Performance winner and the Co-Most Valuable Performer of the meet.
