Madonna and Cornerstone Claim Weekly Men's Outdoor Track & Field Honors

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its latest Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions and selected via a vote by the conference's sports information directors.

This week's honors highlight a sprinting masterclass from Madonna and another national-caliber performance from Cornerstone's premier thrower.

Track Athlete of the Week

Timothy McMiller, Madonna

Timothy McMiller dominated the track at the Golden Grizzlies Invite on April 4, leading the Crusaders to multiple top finishes. McMiller secured a first-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a personal best time of 10.55 seconds, outperforming a competitive field of 26 athletes. He wasn't done there, as he also anchored the Madonna 4x100m relay team to a first-place finish with a time of 1:36.14.

Field Athlete of the Week

Stuart Zachariah Stovall, Cornerstone

For the second consecutive week, Stuart Zachariah Stovall takes home Field Athlete of the Week honors after another record-shattering performance. Competing at the GVSU Early Meet on April 4, Stovall dominated the Hammer Throw with a massive mark of 62.55m. This distance not only secured an NAIA "A" Standard qualification but also catapulted him to No. 2 in the nation for the event. Having already punched his ticket in the Discus, Stovall is proving to be a dual-threat powerhouse for the Golden Eagles' throwing unit.
