Madonna's Dorothea, Cornerstone's Bowden Net Weekly Honors
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.
This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen Madonna's Netanel Dorothea as the Track Athlete of the Week and Cornerstone's Isaac Bowden as the Field Athlete of the Week.
Dorothea ran the fastest 200m time in the NAIA this weekend to win the SVSU Jet's Pizza Invite. The sophomore ran it in 20.93, an NAIA A standard and his best mark of th year thus far. This is his second Track Athlete of the Week honor this season.
Bowden earns his first Field Athlete of the Week honor for winning the pole vault at the Aquinas GR Sports Hall of Fame Classic last weekend. The junior hit an NAIA B standard with a mark fo 4.83m. The mark is the third best in the NAIA this season.
