Defiance's Wilson, IT's Sydnor Earn Men's Indoor Honors

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen Defiance's Xavier Wilson as the Track Athlete of the Week and Indiana Tech's Stephen Sydnor as the Field Athlete of the Week. 

Wilson won both the 60m and the 200m at the GVSU Bill Clinger Classic over the weekend. He ran the 60 in 6.85 and the 200 in 21.58, good for an NAIA B-standard. His 200 time broke the school record for the third time this season.

Sydnor won the long jump at the Crossroads of America Invite last weekend. The freshman leaped 7.22m, an NAIA B-standard to win the event. His mark currently ranks 11th in the NAIA.
