Westfield and Josef Earns Weekly Indoor Honors
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.
This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen Indiana Tech's Javion Westfield as the Track Athlete of the Week and Rochester Christian's Hayden Josef as the Field Athlete of the Week.
Westfield ran a season-best 8.00 seconds in the 60m hurdles to win the Indiana Tech Invitational and claim an NAIA A-standard.
Josef tied his RCU personal best mark in the high-jump, leaping 1.99 meters to win the event at the SVSU Classic.
