2025-26 WHAC Men's Golf All-Conference Honors Released

YORKTOWN, Ind. - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) released the 2026 Men's Golf Honors in conjunction with the championship tournament. University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) won the tournament to claim the conference championship. 

Golfer of the Year honors were split three-ways as Axel Houdaille (Cleary), Oliver Rogers (UNOH) and Guillermo Garron (UNOH). Golfer of the Year is awarded to the best overall score for players who competed in all six rounds between the WHAC Fall Preview and the WHAC Championship. All three golfers shot a combined 441 over those six rounds to share the honor. 

Newcomer of the Year honors went to UNOH's Kyle Sutton. The freshman paced all newcomers to the conference, shooting 226 at the Fall Preview and 227 at the Spring Championship. He is the second consecutive and fifth all-time Newcomer of the Year for UNOH. 

Defiance's Jordan Walford shot even par at the Spring Championship to earn tournament medalist honors. 

UNOH's Eric West was named the Men's Golf Coach of the year. He led the Racers to their sixth all-time WHAC title and first since the 2022-23 season. This is his second WHAC Coach of the Year honor.

Lourdes Coach, Gil Guerrero, was named the Champion of Character Coach for best representing the NAIA Five Core Values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership. 

All-Conference (first and second team) honors were selected by the lowest scores from the WHAC Preview Stroke play tournament plus the Spring Conference Championship. 

In addition to All-Conference, the league awarded All-Academic to sophomores or above in academic standing with a cumulative 3.25 GPA and in attendance at nominating school for one full year. The Champions of Character Team included on golfer from each school who was nominated by their head coach for best representing the NAIA core values.
