2026 Competitive Cheer All-Conference Honors Released

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - (Photos) The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced 2026 conference honors for Competitive Cheer following the conference championships hosted by Aquinas College on Saturday, March 7.  

Honors include: First Team All-Conference, Second Team All-Conference, Cheerleader of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, Coach of the Year, Champion of Character Coach and All-Academic. First and Second team All-Conference, Cheerleader of the Year and Newcomer of the Year are selected by an officiating panel at the final regular season event. Athletes choose to try out and must reach a numerical and skill threshold to earn the honor. 

Cheerleader of the Year: Joel Brothers, Lourdes University

Newcomer of the Year: NaiJale McBride, Lourdes

Coach of the Year and Champion of Character Coach: Patti Glenn, Rochester Christian

In addition to the All-Conference awards, the WHAC also announced its All-Academic and Champions of Character teams. The All-Academic Team consists of sophomores or above with a cumulative 3.25 GPA who have been at their school for one full year. The Champions of Character Team comprises one player from each school who best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
