Mitchell and Leatherman Named Weekly Baseball Award Winners

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Baseball Player of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen Madonna's Aamir Mitchell as the player of the week and Indiana Tech's Colton Leatherman as the pitcher player of the week. 

Mitchell wins the award for the second time this season and had another big week at the plate for the Crusaders. He helped the team to a pair of wins, going 7-for-9 with six runs scored, nine RBI, three home runs and a triple. He also stole a pair of bases to cap off the week. 

Leatherman pitched 4.1 innings with 4 strikeouts in relief over two games for the Warriors, allowing just one run and three hits. He picked up a massive save against No. 2 Georgia Gwinnett and a win against Georgetown in a 3-0 week for Tech.
