Indiana Tech Sweeps Weekly Hockey Awards

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Men's Hockey Player of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, SID's have chosen Indiana Tech's Ryan Doucette as the Offensive Player of the Week and teammate Ian Kangas as the Defensive Player of the Week.

Doucette posted an 11-point effort in a two-game sweep of Rochester Christian. The sophomore scored a goal with two assists on Friday and followed that up with a four goal, four assist effort on Saturday. This is his first player of the week honor this season.

Kangas earns his first defensive player of the week honor for a pair of wins against RCU. The sophomore combined for 21 saves in a pair of shutout victories for the Warriors.
