Cleary's Sheppard, UMD's Hartwell Named Players of the Week

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Men's Hockey Player of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, SID's have chosen Cleary's Bennett Sheppard as the Offensive Player of the Week and UM-Dearborn's Max Hartwell as the Defensive Player of the Week.

Sheppard repeats as offensive player of the week, continuing his hot stretch of play. The junior netted his second hat-trick of the season on Saturday to follow up a five-point effort on Friday as Cleary swept Toledo. Sheppard is now second on the team with 22 total points and Cleary has now won nine-straight games.

Hartwell helped the Wolverines to a WHAC sweep of Rochester Christian. He was also involved on the offensive end, scoring a pair of power-play goals and tallying four total points on the weekend.
