Davenport's David Wood and Josh Verhulst of Indiana Tech earned Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Players of the Week honors for the week ending October 5, 2008.

Wood netted four goals in two games for Davenport University (Mich.) to be named the WHAC Offensive Player of the Week. The sophomore scored both of the Panthers' goals in a 2-3 loss at Aquinas College (Mich.) and added another pair of goals in a 3-1 victory against Siena Heights University (Mich.). Davenport sits at 6-4-0 overall and 2-3-0 in conference play.

Verhulst earned his second WHAC Defensive Player of the Week honor this season after allowing just one goal and recording 17 saves in two victories for Indiana Institute of Technology. The junior keeper had a season-high 11 saves in a 5-0 win at Siena Heights and added six more saves in a 3-1 victory at Grace College (Ind.). Tech improves to 6-4-2 (2-4-0 WHAC).
