Siena Heights Women's Soccer Coach Scott Oliver won his 100th career game at Siena Heights on Saturday October 4th.

With their win over Davenport University on Saturday, Siena Heights Women's Soccer Coach Scott Oliver became only the 5th current college coach in the state of Michigan to win 100 games at their current school. The Saints won the game by a score of 4-1 moving Oliver's overall record to 100-43-13 for a winning percentage of 68.3%.

Coach Oliver began his head coaching career at Siena Heights in 2001. He has led the women's program to two WHAC Championships, two WHAC Tournament Championships, two Region VIII Championships, and two NAIA National Tournament appearances. "Winning and being successful has always been a goal for me and this program.  But regardless of what milestone I reach I will always be looking to improve the next day and try to win the next game.  In the end I am just thankful to have loyal and dedicated players that are willing to listen, be coached, and give for the sake of the team and program."

In his eight year career, Coach Oliver joins Michigan State University's Tom Saxton (18 years 150+ wins), the University of Detroit-Mercy's Mike Lupenec (16 years, 100+ wins), Albion College's Lisa Roschek (11 years, 122 wins), and Grand Valley State University's Dave DiIanni (7 years, 102 wins) as the only current college coaches in the state of Michigan with 100 or more wins.

Coach Oliver came to Siena Heights in the fall of 1993 as a student athlete. He played four years for the men's soccer program, two years under Coach Phil Weaver and two years under Coach Aldo Zid. Oliver graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Biology in the spring of 1997. After taking a year away from Siena Heights he came back to be an assistant coach for Zid with the men's team in 1999 and 2000. Coach Oliver earned his second Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry in the spring of 2008.

A season ago, with his 6th win in 2007, Coach Oliver broke the record for wins as a head coach in the women's program. He broke the old record of 87, held by Zid. At the time Coach Oliver said, "I'm proud, I'm a Siena Heights Saint. I played here and graduated from here and now I'm at the top. I'm very humbled to be included with the Siena greats."

Coach Oliver holds many roles within the University and beyond which only add to the magnitude of the accomplishment. He is the Sports Information Director at Siena Heights and serves on the Hall of Fame Committee. He also serves as the Vice President of the NAIA Women's Soccer Coach's Association and as a National Rater as well.

Athletic Director Fred Smith is the man who hired Coach Oliver to take over the program in 2001. He had this to say, "Coach Oliver has done an exceptional job in building a program that is not only consistently successful but whose student-athletes are some of our best students and leaders on campus. Coach also puts countless hours in his role as Sports Information Director as well as his unselfish contribution in our various athletic functions such as our Hall of Fame Banquet and Alumni Golf Tournament."

"This is a great milestone, but I think it reflects more on the players and the program then the coaching.  The student-athletes have sacrificed and made this program what it is.  I am more proud of what these women have done with their lives outside of soccer then what we have done on the field.  Hopefully I can continue to recruit and develop young women that make Siena Heights Women's Soccer one of the best programs in the state."
